THE CREATION OF PICKLEBALL: A DIVINE INSPIRATION
In the summer of 1965, on Bainbridge Island near Seattle, Washington, Joel Pritchard and Bill Bell, we believe, were divinely inspired to create a new sport that combines grace, agility and heavenly fun. We call it "The Creation of Pickleball" liberally adapted from Michelangelo's "The Creation of Adam" on the Vatican's Sistine Chapel ceiling. This moment signifies the divine spark that gave life to pickleball, a sport that embodies heavenly fun and unites people through its unique blend of skill and camaraderie.
